You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them. - Psalm 89:9
Storms will come. Hard times are part of life. Some things feel overwhelming.
Right now, thousands are still cleaning up and restarting from Helene, many of whom are dealing with very tragic circumstances. Another storm is on its way to Florida; soon others will be facing very difficult circumstances.
Storms will come. You might be experiencing one right now. Maybe not one that is weather related but there could be a storm inside. Life is in upheaval, or you are facing something difficult or chronic, something you have no answers for but only a sense of dread. Storms can turn our lives upside down, and it’s easy to get lost.
But… don’t forget that Jesus is there to help. He offers hope. He will be with you. He stills the storm, helps you to get back up and gives you strength to keep going.
I don’t know what people do without Jesus. He has always been there for us through every storm we have experienced in life. His peace guards our hearts. His love gives us comfort. His power gets us through. His presence gives us hope.
In a storm, it is easy to lose hope, but keep your eyes on Jesus and put your hope in Him. There will be better days ahead. He will lead you through. He does have a plan, and it is good. This storm will pass, and it may take some time to recover but He will be there with you through all of it. Rest in Him and don’t lose hope.
Let’s continue to pray for all who are dealing with the aftermath of the hurricanes and for all who face storms of any kind. May they find the hope of Christ to get them through.
But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. - Micah 7:7
