For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
- Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)
Do you not see it?
Do you have a vision for your life? Where do you want your life to go?
Better yet where is God leading you in your life? What is His vision for your life?
If you are married, do you have a vision for your marriage? Close your eyes. How do you “see” your marriage if it matched the vision you have for it? How would you be speaking to each other? What would you be doing together? How would you treat each other? Can you see love there? Encouragement? Support? Partnership? Christ-centeredness? What is the vision you have? Can you see it?
If you have a family, do you have a vision for it? In your vision of how God wants your family to look, how do you treat each other? How do you interact? What do you do together? How do you respond to each other? What would it look like if you truly lived out God’s vision for your family?
Do you have a vision for your work? School? Retirement? How do you treat others? What is it like for you there? What values come to life there? How would people interact if they lived out your God-given vision? Can you picture it? Use your imagination where our greatest creativity takes place. Let God move in your imagination and see your life for how it could be.
Do you have a vision for your own life? What kind of person would you be? What would be important to you? How would you respond to others? How would you respond to difficulty? How would you live on a daily basis if you fulfilled your God-given vision?
Do you have a vision for your relationship with Jesus? What would it look like? How would you talk to Him? How would you treat Him? How do you act around Him?
Human beings move toward vision. That is its power.
God has a vision for you, your marriage, your family, your relationships, and all of your life. In it, all the principles of His Kingdom are lived out in every area. He has painted a picture of what our lives in the kingdom should look like in His Word.
As you read and meditate on His Word, ask Him to help you see it lived out in your life – in every relationship and aspect. How would it really look if you truly loved others the way He calls us to love? How would it look if you had a deep faith… a lasting peace… joy… if you lived out goodness in your heart? Can you see yourself living that out? What would be doing? What would you be saying? How would you be responding?
Vision is a powerful thing. See it and then live it.
God has a vision for our lives and wants us to move forward into seeing it lived out.
If can’t see it yet ask to see it, and then look with expectation on the horizon to begin to form in your heart, a vison where God is bringing everything together to make it real.
Can you see it?
