Do you remember how exciting birthday parties were as a kid? There was almost always cake or ice cream. There were normally some type of decoration like streamers or balloons or even a piñata. And of course the presents! But most importantly, it was a time where routine was broken and we took time to celebrate someone we loved. It doesn't really matter if you grew up with extravagant over-the-top parties or just a simple homemade cake with your family - there's something so special about getting out of your typical routine and celebrating.

VBS is a fun way to break from your normal church routine. Our VBS this year is next week, July 22-25 and the theme is “Start the Party”. Think balloons, bright colors, disco balls and boom boxes. On the Sunday (July 21st) you will see our worship space transformed. We hope that, by providing this fun environment, kids will be so incredibly excited to learn about Jesus through small group lessons, crafts, games, music and more. These 4 nights of VBS are a big deal. It’s more than just fun (although we do hope lots of fun happens). We are intentionally pouring into these kids for 2+ hours every night for 4 nights. Teaching and showing the love of Jesus to everyone who walks through our doors. The kids will have a memory verse for the week - Acts 2:28 “You always show me the path that leads to life. You fill me with joy when I am with you.” Joy is a big overarching theme for the week. We want that joy to be tangible. We need help to make this happen...

How you can help:

  1. Pray. Right now. Pray for those who are planning, setting up, leading, and for the kids who will attend. Please pray that everyone in attendance will have their hearts open to Jesus and will hear the joy and good news of the gospel.
  2. Provide supplies. Our biggest need right now is food/snacks. Click here to see the snack sign-up list.
  3. Volunteer. You don't have to lead a lesson or be overly enthusiastic. We also need a few people willing to be an adult presence -  to make sure kids stay with their correct group or to be a “hall monitor” and help walk stragglers to their next station! If you are at all interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer form by clicking here.
  4. Pray. I’m listing it again because it really is that important. If you can’t physically be at church for VBS, set a reminder in your phone to pray at 6pm each day July 22-25. Pray for smooth operation, but even more importantly, pray for the precious souls of the children in attendance.

A big thank you to everyone who has already helped out in some way. Whether you’ve given funds, supplies, time, talents, or prayers  - THANK YOU. Can’t wait to Start the Party!
