Be very careful then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. - Ephesians 5:15,16
My son, Micah, and I are reading Ask It: The Question That Will Revolutionize How You Make Decisions by Andy Stanely as part of our weekly discipleship times. This week we discussed the idea of making the most of our time and asking ourselves this question...
In life of my past experiences, my current responsibilities, and my future hopes and dreams, what is the wisest way to invest my time?
It is a great question to think over. Time is so short and unlike almost anything else, you cannot add more time to your life. You can add more money, more friends, more joy, etc but not more time.
Time is our most valuable commodity.
As I think about ROOTED, it seems like the time is flying by. We are now approaching week 8 out of 10. It has been an invaluable time for me.
What I am learning is that life comes in incremental moments, small bursts of time that are like investments.
We get to choose where we invest our time.
Each daily devotional reading and prayer time is an investment of time into my relationship with God.
Each small group meeting is an investment of time into relationships with others and my own spiritual growth.
Each Sunday morning worship service is an investment in my love of God.
Each act of service is an act of expressing my love for God and others.
Each moment with my family is an investment of time in these key relationships.
Each moment is an opportunity to learn something new from and about God.
Each moment is a chance to live out my walk with Him.
Each moment is a gift.
We only have a few more weeks of time left in our ROOTED study so let's make the most of them.
Have you committed your life to Christ and been baptized yet?
Have you fully surrendered every area of your life to Him yet?
Have you faced your strongholds and experienced true freedom in Christ yet?
These are key moments in life and there are so many more.
Make the most of your life today.
Surrender each moment to Jesus and make the most of your time.
