This Sunday will be Carson Brown’s last Sunday with us as our Worship Leader, and we want to say thank you to him and to God for bringing him to us.
Carson started serving at Bridges in the summer of 2019, first by playing guitar in the band, and then as he developed more and more leadership skills, he began to take on more responsibility, including being our Worship Leader for the past two years.
God brought Carson to us at just the right time. Luke Alderman, our worship leader at the time, was beginning to explore his calling to becoming a police officer, and he helped equip Carson to lead. When Covid hit, Carson stepped up to not only get us up and running for live streaming but to do so with excellence. It is fair to say, that he made it possible for us to get through Covid by being online. I am not sure where we would be without him.
He has poured his life into the ministry and has helped us grow in our love for Christ in so many ways. He has served whole heartedly and diligently and has brought significant positive changes to our worship time. His heart for Jesus and serving Him is infectious and encouraging. He will be missed, but his influence will be felt for years to come.
Carson has been preparing the band for his departure for months now and because of his leadership, they are ready to lead in his absence. We are in the process of searching for the next person to lead and will keep you informed as we look to God to bring in just the right leader.
On a personal note, I have truly enjoyed serving with Carson. He has grown so much in his time here and has served so well. My life has been blessed through him, and I will personally miss him.
Carson is being called into full time ministry as a Worship and Discipleship Pastor at Laurel Springs Baptist Church near Boone and on the edge of the mountains. For years, Carson has expressed his desire to live in the mountains where he can fish and enjoy the mountain life and to be in full time ministry. God is honoring both of these dreams and is fulfilling them in ways Carson probably never could have imagined, but God could.
We would love for you to express your appreciation and encouragement to Carson through cards and notes. You can bring them to the Connect Tables in the lobby and we will make sure he receives them.
Join us in praying for Carson and this new ministry as he begins his service there. We are so thankful God brought him to us for this season and know he will serve well in this new role.
