We’ve made a big deal about Connect Events this summer, but another way we are being intentional about connecting during this “Summer of Connecting” is with our One Service at 10am for the month of July.  

We know switching service times can be difficult for some folks, but we really see value in being able to bring both services into the same room and worship together. We have a pretty large time gap between our services on Sunday mornings, so there is very little interaction between folks who are always showing up at 9am and those who always show up at 11am. Sure, we have a lot of volunteers who are there for both services and small groups are a great place to get to know folks who might be in the other service. But without fail, anytime we have gone to one service for holidays or short stretches in the summer like this, we always hear stories about people meeting someone they had never even seen before, even though they have both been attending for a long time.

By far my favorite One Service so far this month was a couple of weeks ago when all the kids stayed in the room for the service. Sure, they could be a little loud sometimes but that was such a fun opportunity to have everyone in the same room all morning. I was lucky enough to get a visual of the room from up front and now I’ve got a pretty special picture stored away somewhere in my head of who Bridges Church is.

I will admit, the actual church service itself isn’t all that conducive to getting to know folks, you will have to show up early and/or stay late for that to happen. That is where our next Sunday Funday on July 30th comes in.

Our hope is to give you more of a reason to stay late after service, and to provide an opportunity designed to get you to know people. We will have food (hot dogs with some basic fixings and a few side items) or you can bring your own. We will have some games set-up/available like cornhole, ladder golf, basketball, 4-square and 9-square.  

Come worship with us at 10am on July 30th and stay afterwards for food, games and most importantly a chance to CONNECT with one another.
