If you have been around for the first few editions of the Multiply Campaign, there is a good chance that the fundraiser that stood out the most to you was whatever crazy physical challenge that Sean and Colleen Bennett decided to tackle that year.
Compared to doing a triathlon or burpee’s and rowing for mind boggling distances, this year the challenge seems relatively reasonable. They are each going to jump rope everyday for a total of 5,000 times from August 6 - September 5. Their goal is to raise $5,000. I know, that doesn’t seem easy, but have you done burpees for a mile?
They have had others tag-a-long their wild physical endeavors in the past, but this year, with our added emphasis on doing our projects together, they are opening up a more formal way to get involved. If you are interested in jump roping/learning to jump rope/learning about the benefits of jump roping, you can be involved as well!
The easiest way to get involved is to show up at the BTG Ministry Center at 9am on Saturday August 6, 20 and September 3 to jump with a group. Ropes will be provided if you don’t have one. Sean and Colleen can also provide 30 day challenges for jumpers of all levels.
If you think jumping over a rope 5,000 times isn’t quite enough for Sean and Colleen, they have said they will each make an additional pass for each $1 raised beyond $5,000. So go support a good cause, and make them jump rope even more just because we can.
In all seriousness, this is just another awesome example of an idea that I couldn’t have come up with, frankly don’t want to do and gets others involved. Thanks Sean and Colleen for the time and especially the energy invested into this project.
