Mother's Day

“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” - Ephesians 6:2,3 

This Sunday we will honor our mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our church family as we celebrate Mother’s Day!

My life was so impacted by my own mother in many ways. She set a powerful example for my siblings and me to follow, setting our needs before her own and sacrificing so much for us. She served Christ well, making sure we got to church when we were children but also in her own walk with Jesus by setting the example of a servant of Christ in multiple ways in the church from singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, serving on teams including the Building & Grounds Team at the church where I grew up, and in studying the Word of God, asking questions of it, and living it out. Some of my most prized possessions are my mother’s Bibles. They are well used and worn from years of discovery.  She left us a legacy of faithfulness. 

We want to honor all those who have given of themselves for their children.
