volunteeringServing at Bridges is a great way to get plugged in, build relationships and make an eternal difference with your life.

Benefits Of Serving:

What are the benefits of serving? What does the Bible say about serving?

Through serving we glorify God, build up the church body and reach out to others. Here at Bridges we believe that service is absolutely necessary – the church body needs everybody’s help! As Christians, we are directed to serve (I Pt. 4:10) and this is one of the ways we worship God (I Pt. 4:11, Rom 12:1).

When each of us does our part and uses our God-given gifts, we help to build up the local church and the larger Christian community (Eph. 4:12, Eph. 4:16). We want to help you to be fruitful and fulfilled in a meaningful place of service. Our desire is that every Christian at Bridges engage in the work of Christ according to the gifts and passions given them by the Holy Spirit.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” – I Peter 4:10

“…to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…” – Ephesians 4:12

Who are volunteers?

Bridges volunteers are people who work together to serve our church body and others in the community to advance the Kingdom for Jesus.

How do I volunteer at Bridges Church?

Stop by the Connect Table on Sunday mornings and check out the list of our Ministry Teams. From there you will be connected with a Ministry Team Leader who can help you try out a team of your choice.

You can also jump right in to serving by helping to tear down on a Sunday after the service. Just go by the Get Plugged In Table at the end of the service and you will be directed to one of 3 areas – Lobby, Worship Auditorium or Children’s Ministry to help pack up everything at the end of the day. No training or experience needed. A Team member will help you learn what to do.

Another easy way to get started is to try out the Greeter’s Team. If you can smile, say “Welcome to Bridges” and help people find the Guest Services Table in the lobby, you can be a Greeter.

To Find out even more, attend Starting Point, our class/get together where you can discover everything you need to know about Bridges and how to get involved. The class is offered several times a year. Just look for more information in our announcements in the Worship Guide on Sunday mornings.
