Maximum Generosity

This weekend we kick off a new sermon series, over a year in making. Last year, our leadership teams took time to look at everything we are doing including a revisit of our church values, looking at who we are and who we want to become. 

We came up with 5 values which we are introducing this year. 

Number 1: Jesus First – we place Him out front and center, wanting everyone know that we stand behind Him and follow His leading.

Number 2: Maximum Generosity – this is our focus for this sermon series. 

Maximum: the greatest or most complete or best possible. 

Generosity: a willingness to give help or support especially more than is usual. 

• It’s about going above and beyond. 
• It’s money but more than money. 
• It’s time but more than time. 
• It’s attention to someone but it’s more than that. 
• It’s the giving of ourselves to our maximum to someone or something that is bigger than ourselves – in this case to Jesus and other people to His mission and His Kingdom. 
• It’s a mindset – an attitude – a heart for Jesus and for others. 
• It’s living life to its fullness. 
• It’s experiencing a joy that is life giving. 
• Ultimately it is about become like Jesus. 

The key verse is Matthew 10:8 – “freely you have received; freely give.”

Behind it all is that we are simply following Jesus and the generosity He demonstrates to us.
